Phil Swain’s northern road trip
As I write this report I'm looking out of the window at a very cold January morning with frost and, probably, like everybody else, looking forward to warmer dryer days with nice hot sticky tarmac. This thought takes me back to the beginning of November when I managed to squeeze in one last driving break, which took in the Lake District and then onwards across to the North Pennines visiting friends along the way.
