Freddyfiles Classic
At the beginning of March, four 914 headed to Ninove in Belgium to take part in the Freddyfiles Classic VW Air-cooled weekend. For this trip I teamed up with David Kelleher as his passenger, which made a change from sitting in the driver’s seat.

We left on Friday morning and crossed via Eurotunnel taking a scenic route to our lunchtime stop in Veurne. Thirty minutes into the journey David Stowers lost the use of the clutch as the cable outer sleeve had broken outwards. I had brought some spares, my overalls and some tools with me, which did include a clutch cable. While David and I got on with the repair the others went exploring the village we were in and we were back on the road in 40 minutes.
