Our first event this month was on 6 October with a breakfast and drive from The Piltdown Man. Unfortunately, we were notified six days prior that the lease on the pub was being transferred to new owners. Subsequently our booking was cancelled at such short notice we were unable to find another breakfast venue to take 40 people and, instead, we started at the ‘Burger Van’ on the A27 at Kingston – not our usual style, but the bacon rolls, and coffee were good, and the drive was lovely. We finished at Hever Castle, despite encountering some road closures that were not shown on any of our sat navs.
