Ladies lunch
On 6 September, one of the hottest day of the year, 21 ladies attended a private lunch and garden visit at a fine country house, The Deane House in Sparsholt with its four-acre rural garden and newly established vineyard. After an introductory talk by the owners covering the house and gardens, and the various grape varieties planted in order to start producing their own sparkling wine, lunch was served on the south-facing terrace followed by a leisurely stroll around the walled garden, water feature and sculptures.
