Come enjoy the sunshine in the lovely Dordogne/Loire region of France this summer with R17. Sailing from Portsmouth we will take a leisurely couple of days to the Dordogne from where we can enjoy the beautiful scenery and attractions this wonderful area has to offer. We will then move up to the Loire for further explorations before returning home via Caen.
For this years excursion we have again worked with Scenic Car Tours. They consistently produce great driver focussed itineraries accompanied with superb support. This year is no different with the highlights being:
Vézac, home to one of the world’s most magnificent landscapes, the famed overhanging Gardens of Marqueyssac. There is also Rocamadour, perched half-way up a vertical cliff, which is a spectacular setting with a world-famous appeal. The town of Domme is one of the best preserved medieval Bastide towns with wonderful views over the Dordogne River. Take a traditional flat-bottomed boat trip from La Roque Gageac and admire the many famous Châteaux from the unique vantage point of the river. Then we move up to the beautiful Loire region and to Amboise, once the home of the French aristocracy and now the burial place of Leonardo da Vinci.
