16 - 20 May 2024

WOTY 2024

Next year’s WOTY will take place over the long weekend of Thursday 16 May (optional), returning home on Monday 20 May.

The venue will be the Beamish Hall Country House Hotel, Beamish, Stanley, Co. Durham DH9 0YB. 01207 233 733

Beamish Hall is used regularly by Region 3 for monthly meetings and was used recently by the Boxster Register for a WOTY. The hotel owner is also a Porsche owner and Club member, which must say something.

As with previous WOTY events we would ask you to make your own individual bookings quoting Porsche Club GB Chiltern Region.

Various grades of room are available, but for starters - Thursday and Sunday Classic room, Bed and Breakfast £105, Deluxe room £125 plus Friday and Saturday Classic Room, £135, Deluxe £155. All are based on two sharing and are per room, per night. Dinner can be included for a supplement of £30pp per night.

Fifteen rooms are currently being held so bookings in quickly please. There is more capacity but beyond those fifteen it will be first come first served and dependent upon availability. A £50 deposit per room will be required. Non returnable but transferable.

Please let Martin know as soon as you have made your booking r21@porscheclubgb.com so he can keep tabs on numbers.

By way of a brief run down on the area and recommended activities there are a number of contrasting opportunities!

Beamish Hall is close to both Newcastle and Durham for those who like a city break and, dare I suggest, a bit of shopping. It is also close to the well-known Beamish Museum. The hotel is literally across the road from the Beamish Golf Club, a great course. OK if you are a regular golfer and coming in a Macan or similar, perhaps not so in a 911!

There are some fantastic driving roads particularly to the north and west passing Kielder Water and Forest, the largest man-made forest in Europe and on up to the Scottish border. There is a great drive of about 100 miles on the club website but we will be developing more. Several coffee stops are available and the scenery is fantastic.

Visit the Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre, the Kielder Observatory or take on the Kielder Forest Drive. A spectacular drive but probably not for the faint hearted or any polishers, who might be better off staying on the black stuff!

The Northumberland coast is within easy reach, visit the Farne Islands by boat from Seahouses. Consider also Alnwick with its castle and what claims to be the largest second hand bookshop on the planet housed in the old station. Then of course there is the famous Bamburgh Castle.

Lots to do and more information in due course. We know it’s a long way ahead but hope to see you there.
