Region 18 September Report

Again R18 has had a packed month of activities

30 June Trawden Run
Report by Alan Diamond

A recce of the proposed route a few days prior found 9 miles of roads which had recently been dressed with stone chippings and a reroute was necessary. We met at the car park near the Tickled Trout, M6 Junction 31in sunshine. This soon changed to cloud cover as we headed north to our first break at the Bridge Café in Wray for coffee. We headed off to Bentham and then south towards Slaidburn. Meeting two police cars on this narrow section of road, with only passing places, it would’ve been nice if they had been sensible and allowed all cars to pass but after letting 3 cars through the first police car started forward and forced one of our group off the road into a hollow, causing scrapes to the underside. Our route then took us from Slaidburn across to Wrigglesworth then Rathmell and Settle before ending at The Knights Table at Little Stainforth for lunch., which is a great place for a meal. If you are in the area. A great day out with a great bunch of friends.

10 July Visit to Tesla Cars
A good number of R18 members joined R5 members for a tour of Tesla Cars showroom at Stockport and were treated to test runs in various models. Thanks to R5's RO Alan Crosby for the invitation.

Over 60 Porsches, a Cobra and Maserati, from R18, Porsche Enthusiasts and Horwich Porsche Clubs, attended Jasmine Porschalink’s regular Sunday breakfast meeting.
