The April breakfast meeting at The Cornerhouse, Wrightington was again well supported by PCGB members. You need to be there before 8.30 am to be able to get on the car park.
The speaker planned for April’s monthly meeting cancelled at the last minute but it gave members a chance to discuss future events.
The following night was the first evening get together at the Bridge House Tea Rooms at Wray near Lancaster. This was as usual very busy even though it was just before Good Friday. There was again a varied selection of sports, supercars and classics. Most attendees arrive about 18.30 and enjoy an excellent BBQ and Hog Roast. The Tea Rooms are also open.. Some car groups then go onto an evening run such as through The Trough of Bowland. These events run on the 3rd Thursday of the month up to September.
On Easter Sunday the annual Sports & Supercar meeting took place at Shackleton’s Garden Centre, Chatham near Clitheroe. Pre-booking was essential to be able to get on the car park, with those arriving without pre-booking had to park on the main road, often about 1 mile from the event. Again there was a varied selection of cars from Ferrari replicas to a Bentley Bentayga, as well as many classics As it was Easter Sunday the Garden Centre was closed but excellent bacon and sausage barms and drinks were available on the patio. There was a large Porsche presence not only from R18 members but TIPEC and Horwich Porsche Club as well.
During the month there was the usual Cars & Coffee at Chung Ku Restaurant, Columbia Quay Liverpool, LA3 4DB. Again a fantastic turnout of about 400 sports & supercars as well as some classics. Keep an eye out on Facebook for dates of future evenst as they are not always on the same Sunday of the month
