One of the highlights every year for R22 is the Regional Concours hosted by the Parker family previously at Porsche Centre Kendal and now at the new home of the Parker Family Porsche Centre South Lakes.
This event is Region 22’s jewel in its crown, with continued support from Porsche Centre South Lakes and Tom & John Bradshaw from Road & Race Restorations, of Little Hulton near Bolton. This year we saw additional support from Steve Fairhurst and his team and family from Black Magic of Carlisle who this year were part of our guest judges.
This year’s event saw neighbouring Regions and members traveling from far afield to enter and the Concours at the brand new Porsche Centre facility. All the 20 Concours entrants were in one area, and we had additional Register parking from 992 and Cayman Registers supporting the event.
We had fantastic catering for the event by the Striped Pig company supplying amazing hog roast that went down a treat with the 150 attendees.
This year’s Concours saw some of the finest cars from around the North of England and the high standard made for an exciting competitive concours.
Each member who entered received a large bespoke drying towel and quality microfibre polishing cloth kindly donated by Black Magic. The awards were: Porsche Centre South Lakes Car of the Show; Black Magic’s Car of the Show, Overall winner, Region 22 Class; Visitors Class, and finally trophies for the best 992 and the best Cayman.
Supplementary prizes were provided by Black Magic who supplied some top end detailing kits and Porsche Centre South Lakes supplied Porsche merchandise.
An enjoyable day with lovely food, friendly and helpful staff to advise members on the latest Porsche products including great discounts on Porsche clothing and merchandise on the day.
