Following flirtations with two Cayman 718 pdk variants, we fell in love with Boris at first sight in 2021 when he was advertised by Harbour Cars in Chichester. With sub 20K mileage, heated seats & air con, combined with classic looks, it was a no brainer, so Elaine duly did some talking with Geoff on the 'phone and a road trip was arranged.We travelled down in the Cayman and came away with our lovely Carrera White 987.2 pdk Boxster Spyder, spending a sunny afternoon on Hayling Island before going on to our overnight stay.Boris is very much a high days and holiday car enabling us to fully enjoy The IoM Festival of Motoring in 2021 and 2022. The superb climb of the Sloc is a delight even on days when its not a closed road run. Similarly the circuit at Jurby suits the car., and the drivers too! Earlier in 2022 we were invited to join the display at Porschemeirion where we were parked within the historic village right down near the beach. A great day out sandwiched between trips on both the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog railways.So why Boris? Well aficionados of The Who will know the song written by the late great John Entwhistle: "Boris the Spider". Appropriately a quite large fluffy spider called Baby Boris sits on the dashboard with Tukker the AA dog keeping watch a safe distance between the seats.
