July updates from Region 12.

July 15th –Fish Banquet at John and Sue Gibson’s home in North Norfolk
47 of us enjoyed yet another superb Fish banquet as we were hosted by John and Sue at their home on a very hot Sundayafternoon. We managed to park 24 Porsches in both John's driveways and this neighbours successfully and then sat down to a glass of Pimms before the food was served. Fish of every description was on the menu, with salad and new potatoes, followed by gooseberry tart, strawberries and cream. For those of us who stayed late, John brought out a plate of hot dogs, complete with onions!! We were once again pleased to welcome more new members attending their first R12 event – Kevin and Janette, Mike and Pat, and Lin and Ian and we hope to see them at other events in the future. Our sincere thanks to John, Sue and their family for all their hard work – we don’t know how they do it!!

July 17th – Summer Social with “The Cars the Star” at the Bird in Hand
39 cars were displayed in the Pub car park for our July social. Visiting members from Shropshire, Mike and Chris Heywood, were delighted to win the “Cars the Star” for their stunning yellow 718 Boxtster which was chosen by a member of the Bird in Hand staff and were awarded a pair of wine glasses plus a bottle of wine to enjoy. A lovely evening saw a host of members enjoying chat, drinks and food and we welcomed two more new R12 members, Kevin and Nicky Allison. A raffle was held for “Guide Dogs for the Blind” and our thanks to Rosemary for doing a sterling job selling the tickets. We look forward to meeting Sandra who is a volunteer from the Charity with her dog at September’s club night so please join us for that evening.

July 20th – 22nd – Silverstone Classics
We motored up to Northampton on the Friday afternoon to spend a couple of days with friends, plus taking in the Silverstone Classic on Saturday and Sunday. En-route we even encountered some wet stuff called “rain” and had to pull over and put the top up on the 968. However the rain didn’t last and the weather was once again dry and sunny for the weekend. We enjoyed meeting up with several R12 members, plus chatting to other Regions who had made the journey. Our thanks to everyone from PCGB for manning the Hospitality marquee and keeping us refreshed with cold drinks, teas and coffees. We appreciate the hard work and long hours put in by all those involved.
