RNLI-911 Challenge

You may already be aware that Belinda and James Richardson are once again, taking on their annual 911 challenge to visit RNLI life boat stations around the country to raise funds for a new boat. They have done this a number of times, and this year they visiting EVERY RNLI station in England. This is a very worth while cause, and we have asked if we in the R12 region, can support them on their way through Norfolk and Suffolk this year.

They have a very tight regimented schedule to visit the lifeboat stations each day, and they will be in the R12 region on the 31st August. If any members would like to take a drive out to any of RNLI stations and catch up with Belinda and James, they would be delighted to receive our support. They will stop at each place and chat with the RNLI teams, and of course there are opportunities for photos with their Porsche 911 decked out in the RNLI livery. Some of the station locations are not ideal for parking, with limited or no parking available. The stations and the schedule are listed below, and I recommend the Southwold, Gorleston and Happisburgh locations as the best for parking, with ample space for 10-20 cars at those spots. Obviously, it is still the height of summer at this time, so we do expect all spots to be somewhat busy, but don’t let that put you off.

If anyone is interested in going along to one or more of the locations, please let us know, so that we can work out numbers, and advise the RNLI stations of what to expect. It is not mandatory, but a donation to the RNLI fund raising efforts would be very much appreciated, and the website with instructions on how to donate is at: www.rnli-911challenge.co.uk
