Once again, R24 members Paul and Melanie Richards have kindly supplied a report capturing the flavour of this year’s 24-hours of Le Mans.
“Highlights for us were the appearance of the 963 run by the Jota team in its super gold ‘Hertz’ livery on only its second race, the cavalcade of past Le Mans winning cars as part of the opening ceremony (including 917, 936, 956, 962, 911 GT1, 919) and the appearance of Derek Bell, Jacky Ickx, Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen among the celebrity drivers providing their perspective on past LM races. We were also very pleased to have Allan McNish as a guest speaker at our ‘village’ on the Thursday evening before the race.
