Holmpton Underground Bunker visit

We have arranged what promises to be a fascinating trip to a former cold war underground bunker at Holmpton, East Yorkshire.

Built in 1952 the site was a radar station, and amongst various roles was a Command and Control Centre at the height of the cold war.  The site is now privately owned, and it has been restored to house period equipment showing how it would have been when in use.

The bunker is around 30,000 sq feet and is 100 feet below ground, and we can promise a very interesting trip.

I am hopeful of securing a discount on the normal group rate of £6 per person payable on the day.

The timings are as follows:-

Meet at the Bunker at 10.30 am (possibly travel over the bridge together from the south bank?)

I will look into possible venues for a pub lunch or fish and chips as we're near the sea.

If you wish to attend please e-mail Rod Stormes, and also advise if you are interested in having lunch.  rod@stormes.co.uk

Note:- whilst it is only just over 25 miles it typically takes circa 45 minutes to get from the Humber Bridge to the Bunker.
