Blyton Park Novice Trackday

Our very popular annual trackday at Blyton Park returns.

We have negotiated a price with Blyton Park for 2015 that is only slightly more than last Year. As a result, we have managed to keep our costs more or less the same.

The cost for a full day (in sessions) including instruction if required is just £100/PCGB driver. If you are new to Track days or Porsches then instruction is mandatory until the instructor is confident of your safety. Sessions will be run based on experience and performance, we have classes for complete novices, older Porsches, full track/sprint/race cars and GT3s RSs etc. At no point will a slower car or a novice be allowed out with a faster class. Sessions are not run for long periods, the track is very demanding physically and also puts quite a bit of heat in the engine and brakes. Therefore we run shorter sessions which allow for the driver and car to cool down whilst watching some of the other classes. The sessions are never crowded, we restrict the number of cars on track to around 7 cars; sometimes you will never see another car. So imagine being able to have the sole use of a track, it may well feel like it! We also encourage passenger laps within other classes, it is a good experience to see how other cars/drivers perform on track.

We will be using the full (larger) circuit at Blyton Park. Information about the circuit is available on line at Blyton Park driving centre. Helmets are mandatory, although not required to be RAC standard; they can be hired on the day for £10. Soft soled shoes are most strongly recommended, it will make a lot of difference to your track driving experience.

If anyone has any further questions, or wishes to take part please ask either Gavin Marshall, ARO, or Richard Watkinsin , RO. We are here to ensure you have all you need for a good day out and safe track driving.

Note! Once again this has been included in the PCGB Track Day calendar, therefore it is covered under insurance sanctioned for PCGB track day events. Thanks to Steve and all at the Motorsports division for your confidence and support.

You can also come along and spectate, you do not need to drive. This is a tremendous social event with support from AW Repair group, mechanical advice from Renspeed and hospitality from Richard, Jane and all the staff at Blyton Park. We also have Pax rides available for a small charity donation, so if you ever wondered what it was like on a track but never dared; now is your time!

23 Feb Update

We have 36 entry applications for the Blyton Park Track day. We will have a small reserve in case any one fails to return their entry prior to the closing date. We have booked another instructor to allow a bit more flexibility, but basically we are now fully booked; sorry for those that didn't make it this time.
