2020 Porsche Club awards scheme launched

Celebrating the achievements of Club members and volunteers

Building on the success of the new approach we adopted last year to our annual awards, the award scheme recognising achievement in 2020 is now open. Members can have a say in deciding the winners by making nominations by noon on Friday 31 March 2021.

Nominees will be assessed based on the evidence submitted, not on the number of nominations received.

Our aim is to announce the award winners in April. The likelihood is that the announcement and presentations will take place as an event on a virtual platform, however, we will keep this under review.

The categories are:

The Sheffield Trophy (Region of the Year)

The David Gillhooly Trophy (Register of the Year)

The Spirit of the Club (To the members considered to have supported the club above and beyond that normally expected of a member)

The Bill Goodman Award (To a member with exceptional service over not less that 10 years and not more than 20 years of continuous membership)

The John Piper Trophy (To a member with over 20 years continuous service who has made a significant contribution for the good and benefit of members)

Member of the Year (Awarded to a member, who has completed at lease 12 months membership, deemed most suitable by the panel as having made an exceptional contribution to their Region, Register, or to the club during the award year)

Nominations must be emailed to: awards@porscheclubgb.com before midday 31 March 2021 and must contain the following information: (you may wish to ‘cut and paste’ the headings to use in your response)

(a)       Name, membership number and contact telephone number of the full                                 member making the nomination (in the case of joint membership the full member is entitled to make a nomination);

(b)       Title of award

(c)       Name of nominee, Region or Register

(d)       How the criteria has been met

(e)       Additional supporting information (max 250 words)

Following the closing date every eligible nomination will be considered by a ‘Panel of Peers’ consisting of four PCGB members plus an independent member.

Award of Honorary Membership
‘The Panel’ may, in exceptional circumstances, recommend to the board up to two individuals in an award year, who in their opinion warrant the award of Honorary Membership.

30 Year Continuous Service Award
In addition to the Annual Awards, individuals who complete 30 years continuous membership will be recognised with a special award. The 30 year awards will be presented at a special event which usually takes place at Club Headquarters.
