New venue proves a hit for Silverstone Auctions.

New venue proves a hit for Silverstone Auctions.

The fourth annual Silverstone Auctions Porsche Sale in association with Porsche Club GB took place on Friday, 28th September and saw a number of spectacular prices.

A 1998 Porsche 911 (993) Turbo, factory enhanced to the 'S' specification, also attracted multiple bidders in one of the longest bidding wars of the sale. Reading just 42,000 miles from new, the car sold for £126,000, more than £16,000 above its lower sale estimate.

A rare 1998 Porsche 911 (993) Turbo S, one of only 26 UK right-hand drive examples and finished in rare Pastel Yellow, sold for an impressive £185,625, as one of the most valuable lots of the day.

Among the older Porsches on offer, a fully restored, rally prepared 1958 Porsche 356A appealed to multiple bidders in another extended bidders battle, which saw it sell for £82,125, almost £20,000 above lower estimate.

Meanwhile, a left-hand drive 1992 Porsche 911 (964) Carrera RS N/GT 'Racing Package', one of only 20 ‘Racing programme' cars, sold above estimate for £151,875.

Club members who had pre-registered to attend the sale via the Porsche Club website, enjoyed free entry to the sale, display parking, a complimentary buffet lunch as well as being treated to a polo display.

Silverstone Auctions is now inviting entries to its two-day sale at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, on 10th and 11th November. Vendors benefit from just 5% + VAT seller’s commission. The catalogue closes on 15th October 2018.
