The 2018 Autosport International is shaping up to be a vintage year for Porsche Club GB.
The event, held at the NEC in Birmingham this coming weekend, will showcase Porsche’s uniquely accessible motorsport ladder and the ways in which the Club can help its members take their next (or first) step up it.
Whether it’s exploring the limits of your road car on a private track day, or making a move into racing proper, the Club will be on hand to introduce you to the various disciplines available, while offering advice, guidance and putting you in touch with existing competitors.
Our stand this year hosts an incredible spectrum of competition cars, ranging from iconic lightweights, through early transaxle veterans, to the current pinnacle of technological progress.

The earliest model on show will be Paul Howells’ stunning and fearlessly campaigned 1973 911 RSR. Paul won the Porsche Club Hill Climb Championship in inimitable style late last year and we look forward to more of the same in the near future.
Not far behind in years, but a world apart in design, is the 1978 winner of the Porsche Cars GB 924 Championship, driven by Tony Dron and Porsche dealer/owner Gordon Ramsay. (Not that one). The car made further history the following year when it was entered into the Brands Hatch Six Hours – an official round of the World Sports Car Championship. Driven by Win Percy and Juliette Slaughter, the car took a GT class win, making it the only normally aspirated 924 to ever score World Championship points.
Next up is the 996 C2 of Mark McAleer, the car that won the hotly contested Petro-Canada Lubricants Porsche Club Championship in a nail-biting final outing at Castle Combe last October.
And last, the Club is delighted to announce, will be the 919 Hybrid, three-time winner of the World Endurance Championship and that historic hat-trick at Le Mans in June. This milestone in Porsche’s Motorsport’s remarkable history, with its ground-breaking drivetrain and cutting-edge aero, will be with us throughout the show, nestled alongside its eclectic ancestry.
The show opens to the public on Saturday 13th January at 9am and closes on Sunday 14th at 6pm. There will be complimentary hospitality throughout the weekend for anyone with a valid membership card. We hope to see you on the stand…
