Old faces, new cars, same top-notch racing in the UK’s premiere club championship
The second weekend in April marks the start of another exciting season of racing in the Petro-Canada Lubricants Porsche Club Championship with Pirelli.
Race 1 is at historic Donington Park in Leicestershire on Saturdy the 14th, and will witness the first outing of the new 997 C2S in Class 1, with a formidable pool of talent old and new lining up to do battle in the new car across the 14-race season.
Last year’s champion, Mark McAleer will be looking to defend his title, starting the season in his championship winning 996 CS2, while the finishing touches are made to his 997 in time for the second round at Brands Hatch on May 5th.
Among the Class 1 drivers returning is former champion Peter Morris, who, in 2015, not only set a new Club record for race victories, but also became the first driver in the Club’s history to be crowned overall champion two years on the trot. Peter will be starting the 2017 season behind the wheel of his freshly prepared 997 C2S.

The Porsche Club Championship is perfect for those seeking true track competition. The racing is close and competitive but always in a friendly atmosphere. The Championship has been running for the past 14 years and holds seven, double header meetings at some of the UK’s most prestigious circuits, including Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Oulton Park.
The Championship is open to competitors in recent production model Porsches, using standard engines, suspension units and gearboxes, based on a power to weight formula to allow for competitive racing between model types.
