PCGB Championship heads to Oulton Park

The penultimate Fuel Protect Porsche Club Championship with Pirelli takes place at Oulton Park this Saturday.

The penultimate race meeting for the Fuel Protect Porsche Club Championship with Pirelli takes place at Oulton Park this Saturday, September 12th.  With just four races remaining, Saturday’s outcome could prove crucial in the season long battle.

Reigning champion Pete Morris will start Saturday’s action with five wins and a consistent finishing record, although he has faced a stiff challenge at the front in recent races, particularly from fellow 996 competitors Craig Wilkins and Mark McAleer.

Taking the fight to the 996s since he joined the series at Silverstone has been Gary Duckman, who took a win in his Boxster S at Brands Hatch in July and has recorded a string of pole positions. Also adding model variety to Class One have been the Cayman S runners, Chris Dyer putting his Strasse run example on the podium at Donington Park. Unique amongst the field as it runs Porsche’s PDK automatic gearbox is the Cayman of disabled racer Natalie McGloin, whose car is fitted with full hand controls.

Qualifying begins at 08.30 on Saturday morning, with the two 25-minute races at 12.05 and 17.30.

Tickets to watch the racing, which is being run by the MG Car Club, will be available on the gate, priced at just £14.

Visitors are welcome to enter the paddock, where they can meet the teams and drivers, take a closer look at the machines in race preparation, and see an entirely different side to the race meeting.
