Dan Cammish to take on the Carrera Cup Deutschland crop at Zandvoort

Second outing in sister series for Cammish.

Runaway Porsche Carrera Cup GB points leader Dan Cammish will test himself in the highly competitive Deutschland series at Zandvoort this weekend. The 26-year-old, who currently holds a 41 point lead at the top of the GB standings, will race with Konrad Motorsport at the historic and challenging Dutch circuit.

The former Formula Ford Champion has already raced with the squad earlier this season at the Carrera Cup Deutschland meeting at the Lausitzring and will be hoping to keep up his mightily impressive form in front of the ram-packed DTM crowd.

The Leeds-based driver will be up against a high-calibre field including several familiar faces from his Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup drive last weekend at Silverstone. Amongst them will be Porsche Juniors Sven Muller, Matteo Cairoli and Connor De Phillippi. The field will also contain the highly-rated Philipp Eng, Alex Riberas and Michael Ammermuller.

“I learnt a great deal from the Lausitzring which was my first weekend with Konrad Motorsport so there was quite a lot to take in,” the Redline Racing driver said. “I think being more familiar with the team will help as we can start where we left off. I also learnt just how tough the competition is: Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland is effectively a Supercup grid and up there with the highest levels of Porsche racing. It's all about getting the experience and mileage for the future. Zandvoort will be tough as I missed the test but it's still good for me to be racing these top guys.

“The depth of competition is staggering. It's also incredibly fierce racing. The first few laps are just about survival and after that it's qualifying laps. The pace is relentless. It can't help but benefit me when I return to Carrera Cup GB duty.

“Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland and Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup are a great proving ground for future professional drivers. Nick Tandy put me in touch with Franz Konrad who gave me the opportunity to race this season which I am very grateful for. It's great to be involved with Franz who is so closely connected with Porsche and has helped people like Tandy reach the top. I'm not a driver with bags of cash so I need to impress the right people and win races. When someone like Franz calls, you get yourself to the track!”
