Porsche Club GB returns to Althorp

National event given the go-ahead by Lord Spencer and set to take place at Althorp House in Northamptonshire over the weekend of 15th and 16th August.

This year’s showpiece gathering had been provisionally scheduled for some time, but now plans have been formally approved by Lord Spencer.

Many members will remember the Club’s two hugely popular events at Althorp in 1996 and 1997, which saw thousands of marque enthusiasts visit the beautiful home of the Spencer family. Indeed, those gatherings rank among some of the most popular ever staged by the organisation, and it is hoped that large numbers will once again gather in 2015.

A number of activities are planned for the weekend with proceedings scheduled to get under way at around mid-day on Saturday, 15th August. Camping, evening entertainment, driving activities and a link-up with the Porsche Silverstone Experience Centre are all being worked on.

‘Returning to Althorp is very exciting for Porsche Club GB,’ said Peter Bull, the Club’s Chairman and Events Director, ‘and I am confident that we will deliver an event which members can be rightfully proud of. Naturally I would like to thank the team at Althorp for agreeing to host us. In order for the event to succeed we will need the support of the membership, so I encourage as many members as possible to attend.’

Tickets will go on sale in mid-March, and all the latest news about the event will, of course, be published in Porsche Post.
