Gallery: 2015 – A year in review

As 2015 draws to a close we’ve put together a gallery of some of our favourite Club events.

As 2015 draws to a close we’ve put together a gallery of some of our favourite Club events from this year. This is just a glimpse of what has been one of the busiest years in the Club’s history!

Starting at Autosport International in January, the Club embarked on its most ambitious events calendar to date. The opening round of the WEC, Le Mans 24 hours, Goodwood Festival of Speed and Silverstone Classic were just some of the many highlights in what was a bumper year of action.

National Event, Althorp House
Returning to Althorp House for the first time since 1997, this year’s National Event evoked fabulous memories of the past and showcased the Porsche model range of the future. The weekend saw over 3,000 enthusiasts enjoy the proceedings and was blessed with fine weather from the outset.

Where we Belong
Porsche’s historic 17th Le Mans victory was witnessed by over 700 members who enjoyed camping on the Porsche Club site. Many members drove to Le Mans in convoy with their Region or as a group of friends.

Kings of the Castle
Porsche Classics at the Castle held in the stunning grounds of Hedingham Castle is an event the Club continues to enthusiastically support. Once again it attracted a fabulous collection of early and rare Porsche models to the beautiful home of the Lindsay family in Essex.

The Summer of Speed
With a race, speed and hill climb Championship Porsche Club GB provided motorsport fans plenty to enjoy. In one of the most competitive race seasons in the Club’s history, Pete Morris notched up six victories setting a new club record, and also became the first driver in the Club’s history to be crowned overall Champion two years running.  Alongside the Club’s championships we held 17 track days a year at some of the UK’s most prestigious circuits.

Home is Where the Heart is
We held four open days at our Gloucestershire Clubhouse including a summer barbecue with Pirelli and a Christmas-themed open day to round of the year in December. Both open days were attended by hundreds of members and we look forward to welcoming even more in 2016.

Our 2016 calendar is already live and can be viewed using the link below. We want 2016 to be an even more successful year for the Club and hope you can join us at our events.
