Corner Dissection for Road, Track & Race

Join Colin Hoad, Founder & Chief Instructor at CAT Driver Training for an evening exploring the differences between safe advanced road driving and optimising speed on a circuit.

At CAT we offer driver development courses for road, track and race. Each discipline requires subtle changes in technique and process to optimise you and your Porsche with the reason for your journey. Why?  What are the differences?

This evening we’ll investigate how applying logic and some simple engineering principles, our driving technique can be optimised to meet individual driving objectives, combined with the reason we are behind the wheel.

Writing and delivering our courses, it still surprises me how many variants there are to pushing and pulling pedals and levers, whilst turning a steering wheel. Whether you’re a road or circuit enthusiast, you drive with the engine in front of, or behind you, there is learning for all.

Information is presented contextually, with complex engineering principles explained in digestible form for enthusiasts and engineers alike. Why do we section a corner into 3? Why does understanding how a tyre grips the road promote safety and optimised stability? Why would I need to trail brake? And why is engine position relevant to the discussion?

Corner dissection for safe progress on the road, safe track days and lap time reduction will all be explained.
