Creaking steering wheel…

I've had my 2019 992 Carrera 4s about 2 months with one previous owner - purchased from Porsche Leicester. So happy, seriously happy - love it to bits except that the steering wheel has an annoying "plastic” creak that's really noticeable at low speed. I’ve tried pressing and holding all the various components on the wheel. No good - the noise persist…. I was told on day 2 of ownership by the Porsche "it’s pretty normal” and was invited to the dealership to see / hold other steering wheels. I’ve been really busy with work, so only managed to go last Friday - guess what, they were all solid and mine is now booked in for an "assessment” on the 15th September. Has anyone else experienced this or similar? UPDATE : Porsche Leicester have identified the problem as the bushes inside the steering wheel and have agreed to do the corrective works FOC. It would seem it's a known occasional fault especially with heated steering wheels - in the summer or with the heated wheel switched on the creaking is significantly reduced / goes away. Works booked for the 6th November - keep you posted.

Hi,
Delighted to hear you are pleased with your 992 Carrera 4S, they really are a fabulous drive. I have had two 992’s and neither had any creaking from the steering wheel. Its great that Porsche Leicester are taking your concerns seriously, and I hope that the ‘assessment’ allows them to rectify the problem.

Hope to see you at a 992 Register event soon.

Kind Regards David

Hi , might I suggest you pose the same question on our local facebook page 'R8PCGB' it tend to receive a lot more traffic for a response, just answer a couple of entry questions, personally I have owned a lot Porsches over the years and never had a squeaky wheel but my last newest car is 5 years old now. Cheers Tom
