This day at Thruxton is great fun and provides a fantastic opportunity to learn a lot about car handling on both the track and skid pan.
Take one of the course cars out on track with advice from an instructor. Perfect your lines and understand the limits of the car and driver.
The skid pan is a highly polished wet concrete surface where you can learn the limits of your car in a safe and controlled environment. When do you expect the car to break away from you? Can you keep it pointing in the right direction? What happens when you lose control?
Spaces for the event are limited and R17, R19, and R29 will be attending this event so please book to secure your place.
A friend can accompany you to spectate at no extra cost.
Date: Saturday, 31st May
Start: 9am
Venue: Thruxton
Price: £189.50 per person
Following the success of the previous events over the last few years, Region 17, 19 and 29 have organised a Driving Day for up to 32 members at Thruxton Motorsport Centre.
The day will involve the Skid Pan and then either the Alpine 1-2-1 or the Racing Car Experience, for an excellent inclusive price of £189.50 per driver for the day (same price as last year).
Details of each event are covered on the Thruxton website and extra experiences, including a sideways drive with Tiff Needell, can be booked in advance or possibly on the day for friends and family.
The R29 participants will be split into two groups of 16 drivers:
- Group One - morning skid pan, afternoon circuit
- Group Two - morning circuit, afternoon skid pan
Please note:
- The skid pan sessions will be based on you driving your own car, "run what ya brung".
- The circuit sessions will allow you to choose a track based activity from either Cayman PDK 1-2-1, Alpine 1-2-1 or the Racing Car Experience.
The event is only open to current PCGB members.
- Joint members will need to log in separately to register and make two separate payments.
There are only 32 places available, 16 within each Group. When you Register, select your Group and make full payment, you will receive a confirmation from PCGB.
