Join us for a 3C (Convoy, Coffee, Cake) event on Saturday, 28 September. You will have the opportunity to drive your Porsche in convoy with other Porsche 928s and to meet and bond with fellow 928 enthusiasts.
So that you and a friend or partner can make a day of it, your journey will take you to Masson Mills near Matlock Bath where we will have tea and coffee in the café followed by a 90 minute guided tour of the mills and then a cold buffet lunch.
Masson Mills was built by Sir Richard Arkwright in 1783 to utilise the water power of the River Derwent for the mass production of spun cotton. A commercial cotton spinning mill until 1991 it is now home to a working textile museum and visitor centre.
There will be two convoys, one meeting up in the Macclesfield area at 09.30 and the other in the Leicester/M1 Junction 21 area at 09.00. The convoys will travel to, and meet up, at Masson Mills near Matlock Bath. There will be an area of undercover parking allocated to our event to ensure that our cars are parked together. The cost of parking is included in the price of the event.
The Macclesfield convoy will leave at 10am for a one hour drive whilst the Leicester convoy will depart at 09.30 for a 90 minute drive. Both convoys aim to meet up at Masson Mills at 11am. There is no strict requirement for you to join or travel in a convoy so you will be able to meet us at Masson Mills if you prefer.
Upon arrival you will have tea or coffee in the cafe followed by, at 11.30, a 90 minute guided tour of the mills.
Lunch is expected to be at 13.00 after which you have the remainder of the day at your leisure. Masson Mills is close to Matlock Bath and Cromford, both being a short drive or a walk away.
The cost of the event is £26 per person. This price includes parking, tea and coffee on arrival at Masson Mills, a cold buffet lunch and a 90-minute guided tour of the mills. Numbers are limited so you are advised to book early.
Details of the convoy meeting places and the routes the convoys will take will be provided to register members once they have booked their place.
