Porsche 550 Mille Miglia Poster
Porsche Club's Limited edition A1 Triple Espresso Poster
594mm x 841mm
This artwork celebrates racing from a different age when drivers could be confronted by an on-coming train. Herrmann had a remarkable race at the 1954 Mille Miglia, when the gates of a railroad crossing were lowered moments before the fast train to Rome passed.
Driving his Porsche 550 Spyder, Herrmann decided it was too late to brake and instead knocked on the back of the helmet of his navigator to make him duck. They passed below the gates, missed the train and went on to win the under 1500 sports car class.
Digitally printed on 250 gsm silk stock.
