This month’s focus is on Sarah Walker who has a Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid in PTS Merlin Purple Metallic.
What led you to a V8 Cayenne? What’s the story?
I’ve always been a petrol-head. My journey to Porsche started with a V8 Range Rover Sport. She (and it was most definitely a she) had her foibles like most Range Rovers, but I forgave her the odd electrical glitch. I’d always said when I replaced the Range Rover I’d go electric. When the time came, I chose a 2020 Tesla Model S. What a mistake! Handling, build quality, interior, panel-integrity and user interface were poor. Within six months I was looking for a replacement.
After a 13 month wait, my Taycan 4S CT in Mamba Green arrived. Just fantastic, like nothing else I’d ever driven. After some recalls and other issues on top of those (plus the poor state of public charging), I decided PHEV was the way to go; the rest is history!

How’s it going now you’ve had it just over six months?
I’m still grinning! I have the benefit of electric driving but the glorious V8 growl when let loose on the open road.
I have a fairly heavy right foot, but I’ve managed an average of 45.9mpg - each tankful has lasted about six weeks; at least double what I was getting from the Range Rover. It handles like a dream, and I find myself looking for excuses to go for a drive!
Niggles or negatives? Little things… the centre armrest crushes anything flimsy in the cupholders if you lean on it wrong. Removing the sliding/retracting load cover scuffs the side trims of the boot.
When I give it free rein it reminds me I’m driving a sports car. I know I’m driving a Porsche!
