Well, the weather’s definitely changed. I’m sure many of you have cleaned your car (or are considering doing so) to store it away for another season - others may be just tired of cleaning the car for another week… I’m the latter.
Keen to meet as many of the Club members and fellow volunteers in the coming months, I had the pleasure of attending Region 17’s visit to Porsche Centre Portsmouth. What an event! Around 122 members attended to hear guest speaker PP editor Adam Towler’s insight and understanding of the car road testing industry throughout his career at Autocar, PistonHeads, Evo, Classic Cars, Octane, Top Gear and Mclaren.
To start meeting members, 991 RS Gary attended R17’s visit to Porsche Centre Portsmouth
I met Region 17 ROs Jon Fisher, Mark Rye-Weller, and Assistant RO Emma Ryan, who filled the room with enthusiasm, and made everyone most welcome. Our amazing hosts provided liquid refreshments and a lovely hog roast! I then had the offer of a curry with Early 911 Register Secretary Julian Hobbins. Overall, a great evening out, and something I hope all 991 members seek to do in 2026 with their own Regions.

PLANS AHEAD
What am I going to be doing for the 991 Register? So far, I have engaged with a couple of 991 members but, clearly everyone will want something a little different and availability to attend events can be limiting. I will try my best to offer something to do.
Firstly, I’m liaising with the Club to understand availability for a 991 meet at Clubhouse. The idea being a two-day event with one overnight stay.
In terms of communication, I will shortly introduce a couple of WhatsApp groups for general comms, and technical chat. I wish to gauge your needs and enthusiasm to participate in groups events.
