Welsh Weekend - Porsches on the Prom

Porsches on the Prom, Great Orme & Prestatyn Classic Cars

Sunday May 24th

Well we couldn't have a Porsche event without a bit of rain but luckily it came in the night and having a wet car helped when we got parked up on the prom to wash off the dirt from the day before track activities.

Since we like to stay together as a group we all met up at Cyril's hotel on the front and went to the promenade in a convoy style. Some say Cyril likes this so one of us young uns ends up cleaning his GT3 for him and this day it was the turn of Tom to get the job although Cyril's wife jean did help. Nice work you two.

The town was very busy for the Bank Holiday weekend and the prom looked fantastic with over 200 Porsches parked along it.

Later, when people started to leave the prom six of us decided to drive up the Great Orme and get a cup of tea and take some photos then to end the day we all went out for a meal at a pub that Mandy and carol had sorted out and had another great evening.

Monday 25th May

Again we met up at  Cyril's hotel, you understand it's not owned by Cyril, and the convoy set off to the Prestatyn car show. The sun was out and there was a variety of cars on show and it was very well attended even the red arrows flew over.

It's always good to talk to people about your cars and we all had a lot of people asking about our cars which looked fantastic.

When the show was ending we decided we could come back down over the Horseshoe Pass again so set of home down the wonderful roads that lead you over the hills of Denbighshire. A quick stop again at the ponderosa cafe for a cuppa then on again back home. Brilliant weekend and already looking forward to doing it all again next year.
