This year’s R14 WOTY will be heading for Devon on the weekend of 11th-13th October 2019
We will be staying at the Lincombe Hall Hotel in Torquay on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis. It is a multi award winning AA rated 4 star hotel, exclusively for adults. It is located in a quiet leafy area just a short walk from the harbour and marina. A newly appointed indoor pool, steam room, ice room, salt room, gymnasium and treatment rooms are due to open a few weeks before our arrival.
There is safe parking at the hotel and its location forms a perfect basis for touring South Devon.
The Friday will be for arrival and settling in, then on Saturday we will head for the ferry at Kingswear before crossing the River Dart to Dartmouth itself. We will then follow the coast to Slapton Sands, on to Kingsbridge and then to Princetown on Dartmoor for lunch. If you have a need to, you can try the Jail Ale here. We will continue the drive to Dartmeet and Widecombe in the Moor, hopefully getting a low fat Devon Cream tea, before heading back to the hotel.
On the Sunday, we will head east along the coast through Babbacombe, Teignmouth, Dawlish, Topsham and stopping in Exmouth for lunch before travelling via Sidmouth, Honiton and back for the free Severn Bridge.
The Lincombe Hall hotel inform me that they have five superior rooms available at £340 and nine gold rooms at £380. The price is for two people for two nights, Dinner Bed and Breakfast including full use of the newly appointed leisure facilities. Treatments are bookable separately.
When booking, 50% of the total cost will be taken as a deposit with the balance payable upon departure.
I will provide route directions for the tours and endeavour to supply a Rally Plaque too.
If you would like to join us for this weekend, initially please can you let me know by the 14th February so that I can ensure the rooms are held for us. Once I know who is coming, I will supply you with a reference number and ask you to book direct with the hotel.
