Wadebridge Wheels

Superb Porsche turnout

In the region of 30 cars turned out in the sunshine at the Royal Cornwall Showground for Wadebridge Wheels 2019.

Many thanks, once again, to Roger Cole for coordinating this event. Next year it won't clash with day two at Powderham!!

Roger Cole writes.

This very popular South West Classic Car event gets better every year. We were again blessed with great weather and the excellent venue of the Royal Cornwall Show Ground at Wadebridge brought out many visitors despite the other sporting events going on.

The show is put on to support several South West charities and this year raised in excess of £28,000 from the one day.

The Porsche Club area was packed with 29 cars, old and new. We are fortunate we can expand our area to take the increasing numbers wanting to take part. The event shelter was well used to shade members and visitors from the strong sun, and made a great place for a picnic. Once again we were asked to supply three interesting cars to parade around the ring, while the commentator enlightened those gathered around with a few facts about each vehicle. With over 1100 exhibits there was something to
suit everyone's taste. It is surprising how many classic cars and bikes are tucked away in people's garages!

Plans are already afoot for next year, which I hope will be well supported by the South West Region of the Porsche Club once again.
