Mount Edgcumbe Classic Car Show and Fayre is held every year to raise funds for Cornwall Hospice Care and as usual was very well supported, both by entrants and visitors. Judging by the numbers walking around, a large amount of money will have been raised for the cause. Ten Porsches and their owners decided that the early morning drizzle was not going to last and so set off for the show. Their decision was correct as the sun came out and although it was not as hot as last year, it made for a very pleasant day. Everyone helped erect the shelter which we used as a meeting place and somewhere to go should the weather turn.
We were given a different location from last year and were actually placed next to a local Porsche restorer/car sales garage which boosted the number of different Porsches on display. The location was right behind the area used for displaying the class winners at the show and so our display of Porsches provided an excellent backdrop.
In addition to the varied selection of cars on show, there was also a large number of stalls for visitors to browse through plus the opportunity to look around Mount Edgcumbe House itself. This show always generates a lot of interest so is well worth putting in your diary for next year.
