North Wessex Downs drive out and lunchMember event

Saturday, 24 October

Following the success of last year’s Cotswold drive-out, we’re doing it all again — this time heading for the North Wessex Downs and some of the finest driving roads the area has to offer.

We’ll muster at Podium Place in Newbury at 10:30 hours for coffee, a chinwag and the usual pre-departure socialising. Once suitably fuelled with caffeine and duly marshalled, we’ll point the noses of our Porsches west and head off at around 11:30 hours.

The route will take us on a roughly 90-minute tour through the North Wessex Downs, mixing fast-flowing bends with quieter, scenic country roads. There’ll be plenty to keep the driver entertained — and plenty of opportunity to admire the scenery when the road straightens out.

Naturally, if one coffee isn’t enough to sustain you through such strenuous activity, there’ll be an opportunity for a mid-route caffeine replenishment.

For those who prefer to know where they’re going, we’ll provide Google Maps routing information together with a traditional Tulip map. So, whether you favour technology or the time-honoured art of navigating from little arrows on a piece of paper, you’ll be fully equipped.

Our final destination will be The Queen’s Arms near Lambourn, where you can either join us for an optional lunch or simply enjoy another coffee and some post-drive chinwag.

There’s no charge for the event, although coffee, lunch and other forms of refreshment are, naturally, for your own account.

Space at The Queen’s Arms is limited, so lunch places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If demand exceeds supply, we’ll look for alternative lunch options nearby — nobody will be left wandering the lanes of Berkshire in search of a sandwich.

So, come along for some great roads, good company, a few bends and, inevitably, plenty of Porsche talk.

Please follow the link here to say whether you want lunch after the end of the drive.  Please complete this form before booking your places to confirm your attendance at the event.
