Deutschemarques ‘26

We’re off to ‘Deutschemarques’ this July 12th. Whether you’re a numismatic fan of its old currency or simply an owner of a car ‘made in Germany’ this is the event for you.

“Ihr Gastgeber ist” the Surrey und Sussex BMW Owner's Club. Do we need to translate?  We kick off at 10 am at Denbies Wine Estate, a stein’s throw from Dorking, itself twinned with Güglingen which is practically within ear-shot of a GT3 RS at full-tilt around Weissach.

So, whether you’re dusting off your 356A or unplugging your fully-charged Taycan, head for Denbies.

The wine estate - as many will attest - is a great venue with easy parking, cafes, a restaurant, as well as the obligatory farm and garden shop where you can load up on Denbies’ wines and other tempting comestibles.

It doesn’t stop there, though:  there’ll be a wide selection of trade-stands along with a ‘Show and Shine’ competition for those who can’t get enough of cleaning and buffing their Stolz und Freude: apparently a thing in both languages.

The cost of this eclectic event is a paltry £10 per car and this includes all occupants.

Last but by no means least you can enrol to take the Denbies Secret Vineyard Trail - ideal for losing a partner who prefers a good walk, magnificent views and a flagon of wine at the end of a 2-hour meander than hanging around kicking a lot of Continental and Fulda tyres (other foreign makes are allowed). £32.00 per person may sound as steep as a well-planted south-facing vineyard but you’re fortified with wine tastings along the way and will be ripe to fall asleep in the passenger seat only to be awakened at home as if the whole car thing had never happened: bargain for some partners, we suspect…..
