There’s nothing finer than blue skies, the early morning dew still bathing the air in freshness, then slipping behind the wheel for a blast to one of our region’s favourite breakfast haunts. Well, there probably is…but there are worse starts to a weekend.
The Old Hatchet lies in the regal environs of Windsor where the Royal Family steadfastly refuses to attend our breakfast chow-downs despite endless invites. But, even without their regal presence, us lowly commoners can still enjoy a warm pub welcome, a capacious car park, convivial conversation and a fine breakfast.
We have Full English, Eggs Royale and the vegetarian alternative available. Tea and coffee are inclusive. All the above is yours for a wallet-lightening £16 quid a head - and that even includes a plate and cutlery. How unfathomably generous.
So, don’t lounge around in bed, get to the pub by 9 am to be ready for Bangers & Bacon O’clock at 9.30. You can take off whenever you’re replete, digested and/or suitably bereft of any further small-talk.
