Just before the coronavirus shutdown we were well looked after by Porsche Centre Guildford and enjoyed a presentation from Callum Smith (Porsche Cars GB) about the new Taycan.
Twenty two of us enjoyed a relaxed Indian Buffet at Shampan Restaurant, near Westerham Kent.
This was our 4th visit to Premier Panel Skills to see progress on their 3.2 Carrera Sport restoration. The body has been restored and painted and some of the electricals/mechanicals installed awaiting engine/gearbox installation and quality control.
Seven of us had two fifteen minutes sessions with electric karts on the figure of 8 track. A new member, Jim M, was fastest. We'd last visited three years ago.
56 of us enjoyed great food and company at our annual Xmas Dinner, which this year was back at Kingswood Golf and Country Club
We visited this lovely house and museum.
On a thoroughly miserable day, some 25 R29 cars put up a good show at Brooklands.
R29 wedding's don't happen often! After knowing each other via work for several years it was good to see the happy couple tie the knot. A great day/evening.
We were made very welcome with food and refreshments. Several service and sales staff were on hand to answer our questions.
We had a great drive with mostly good weather. Eleven cars Met at Fleet Services on the M3, then drove to Marlborough Golf Club for breakfast. We then visited the Atwell Wilson Motor Museum, then Avebury. Finally we had a late lunch at The Bell Inn West Overton.
A few of us made the trip to the Kop Hill Climb. Amongst the cars was Paddy Hopkirk's mini.
We saw the 3.2 shell and panels after they'd been painted. We also had a look at a damaged Panamera (and a Jag F Pace). We also saw their comprehensive 3 stage wash process on their racing Boxster.
We go to this event annually. It's a massive show and this year, thanks to good weather, was very well attended.
The morning skid pan session was held on a ferociously windy day with squally showers. After using Thruxtons' mini and GT86 some of us took our own cars onto the skid pan. In the afternoon we drove on track, either in a Cayman (manual or pdk) or the Formula Renault single seater.
About fifty of us visited PPS to see the 3.2 in primer.
On the hottest June day for several years we visited the coolness of the underground Mail Train museum (the trains ceased operation in 2003).
About a dozen cars met at Rownhams Services on the M27 and made their way to Beaulieu. The main area had already filled up so we were placed in a field. There was the usual huge number of Porsches to look at, as well as the Museum and the monorailway.
There was a fantastic turnout to see Premier Panel Skills' 3.2 Restoration at Stage 1, i.e. where the body had been completely stripped and dipped. Ian Wallis gave us a thorough rundown as to how PPS will restore the car to concours condition using the latest Porsche Approved methods and materials.
Twelve cars split into two groups with about twenty of us made our way through lovely countryside to Billy's Café, Bracklesham Bay PO20 8JH
This year we had a great 'Weekend Of The Year' to Holland - lots of tulips, water, bicycles and great weather.
This year we returned to the NRA at Bisley, home of shooting for the UK, on what was a warm dry day at a fantastic venue.
As a change from our normal venue we were made most welcome by Porsche Centre Guildford. Ian and Steve from Premier Panel Skills updated us on their latest project.
On a generally lovely spring-like day a number of us visit Renaissance Classic Sports Cars at Ripley.
A few of us met for an excellent buffet curry at Shampan, The Spinning Wheel, near Westerham Kent
Forty of us had the usual excellent meal at The Silvermere.
On a lovely sunny, but crisp afternoon, eighteen of us enjoyed tea at The Old Railway Station, Petworth.
On a damp November evening, Ian Wallis and Steve Mays of Premier Panel Skills gave a comprehensive presentation of the joint project between themselves and Porsche Centre Guildford on the preparation of their Boxster 3.2S for the Restoracing 2018 race series. PPS did the bare shell paintwork and Guildford did the mechanicals.
On a thoroughly wet late morning we lunched at The Crew Room, Denham Airfield. We then visited the Pilot Centre.
We had a great breakfast at the glamping site, Bloomsburys at Biddenden, Kent. We then went to Scotney Castle.
A few of us made the Sunday at Brands Hatch where the Club had a great presence and several amazing cars were on display. The 919 did some might quick laps!
We visit this show annually and there are several thousand classic and a few modern cars to look at.

On a lovely warm Saturday, eighteen of us went to the gardens, near Goodwood. Lots of walking was done!
We met at Devil's Punchbowl, Hindhead, for the run to the museum at Singleton. There are many buildings that are several centuries old, all immaculately presented. The Gridshell Building, used as a massive workshop is architecturally very rare.
Fourteen of us met at Jaguar's Castle Bromwich factory. We split into two groups of seven and allocated our tour guide. We saw the F-Type production line where seven robots are used to build the body - the floorpan being assembled into three sections which are then glued and riveted. We also saw the aluminium pressing plant. Photos inside were not allowed.
Twenty Two of us visited the Highways Agency centre at Godstone and were well looked after (by Madeleine in the centre, and Pal and Kevin in the patrol car). We could monitor a live breakdown in the outside lane. We then went to Godstone Vineyard for a snack.
Saturday's qualifying saw some lovely sunny weather. Sunday's main raceday was mainly a mixture of rain and damp conditions. The view from Tabac was amazing.
On a bitterly cold day a group of us went to Spedeworth Motorsports stock car racing at Aldershot Raceway. We had 17 races, the final being a destruction derby.
Our 2018 Weekend Of The Year was to The Metropole Hotel in Llandrindod Wells, Wales. On the way we stopped at Morgan cars, Malvern. On the Saturday, many of us visited Powys Castle.
On a damp Saturday morning about two dozen members set out for ‘The Fox Goes Free’ pub at Charlton, near Goodwood, where we were greeted with a hot drink and shiny bacon butties (I know they’re called Brioche) by which time it had stopped raining. Suitably refreshed, we then formed a convoy and snaked our way to the shooting ground near Petworth

Sixteen of us met at The Surrey Cricketers in Windlesham to enjoy the company of friends, enjoy a pub meal and to partake in the ancient sport of skittles, not to be confused with ten pin bowling and its attendant noise, special shoes and technological wizardry!
Carols at The Royal Albert Hall is a fantastic event and we followed the event with a pub meal.
50 of us crammed ourselves into our normal meeting room at Silvermere Inn On The Lake for our usual feast.
We were treated to an interesting collection of cars on the forecourt, in the main showroom and in the rear ‘stable block’. Service facilities are excellent, with a 20 car space workshop and five ramps plus engine room and parts storage.
On a wet afternoon fifteen of us had afternoon tea at Barnett Hill. Prior to that many of us made a circuit of Winkworth Arboretum (with better weather!).
We had a pub lunch at The Fox Goes Free, Charlton Village, and then made our way to the old control tower at Goodwood.
It was great weather for this year's regular outing to Capel's Classic car Show (in aid of their historic church)
RIAT is the best airshow in the world. We have a 2015-07-18 gallery and this gallery adds a picture of the Porsche Hybrid 919, a Ukranian Air Force SU-27 and a Tornado.
On a lovely July day we made our way to Hayling Island (via Cowdray Park café for elevensies) for lunch at The Galleon (followed by a stroll down the nearby Creek to see the sea).
We assembled at the castle and were unexpectedly asked if we'd like to park on the lawn. This is one of England's impressive castles.
We had a great day visiting the Mary Rose. HMS Warrior, Discovery and the harbour boat tour let us see Frigates and Destroyers.
On a bright day but with a cool breeze, we saw a great display of old planes and visited the house.
32 of us spent two glorious days in Stratford-upon-Avon. The hotel was great, the weather was great and we enjoyed a short river cruise amongst other activities.
Eleven of us shot either 25 or 50 clays at The Big Shoot at Bisley Camp, Woking. We then had a pub lunch at The Cricketers, Horsell Birch.
Nine of us tried electric karts at the indoor circuit of Teamsport Farnborough.
Some of us had an eventful drive. Others visited the Milestones Museum. We then lunched at Mill House, Odiham in their very old barn.
We had a pub meal followed by four rounds of skittles, with prizes for best female, best male, best team plus a boobie prize.
This is becoming one of the Christmas season’s ‘must do’ events for Region 29.

On a crisp Sunday afternoon we had a lovely cream tea at the Old Railway Station, near Petworth.
Twenty eight of us visited the Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery and then went to The Vine for a pub lunch.

On a blustery day, 17 cars gathered for the 18th Capel Classic Car & Bike Show
On 13th August 2016 members were invited, via Sandown-Mercedes, to view the Robert & Tanya Lewis collection of classic cars (with all proceeds going to Help For Heroes).
On a glorious sunny day, nineteen of us had lunch at Dungeness and then visited the Sound Mirrors at Lade Pits, followed by refreshments at The Pilot Inn
A few of us met for the Hurtwood Polo Rock and Horsepoower charity event.
Our first Club Night at Silvermere Inn On The Lake KT11 1EF was well attended in spite of miserable weather.
Fifteen cars met up for the visit to Beaulieu. There was a massive turnout of Porsches and the weather was great.
Eleven of us made the journey to Nice in order to attend the Monaco Historique racing weekend, with six of us making it a longer stay to take in some more of what the area has to offer.
