You may have noticed that your life, at the moment, is a bit rubbish. The news is depressing, the weather is British, and the most exciting thing you've done this week is find a good biscuit. So allow me to brighten your existence by telling you about the most brilliant day we've organised at Thruxton Circuit.

Yes, THRUXTON. Home of British motorsport. Where cars were born to go fast and sensible shoes go to die.

On 30th September, we're putting on an Experience Day that'll restore your faith in having a pulse. And I've got three options for you, because I'm not a monster.

We've got 32 places total — two groups of 16. When they're gone, they're gone.

Here's how it works: both groups arrive 8:00–8:30, grab a breakfast bap at the Thruxton café, then split — one group heads to the circuit while the other hits the skid pan. After the morning session they swap. Nobody idle, nobody waiting. Maximum car time.

THE CAYMAN EXPERIENCE
Max 6 per session

Half-hour classroom briefing. 3 laps in a Toyota with an instructor nodding knowingly, demonstrating how to attack the track.. Then 5 laps in a Porsche Cayman. Another 5 laps. Then one high-speed passenger lap to remind you the Cayman is deceptively, almost absurdly quick.

That Porsche handling. On a proper racing circuit. With you at the wheel.

I'm not crying. It's just allergies.

THE ALPINE 1-1 EXPERIENCE
Max 8 per session

Half-hour classroom. 3 laps in the Toyota. Then 5 laps in an Alpine. 5 more. Then one high-speed passenger lap to bring you back down to earth.

The Alpine A110. Looks like a baby Aston Martin, goes like it's been fired from a cannon, handles as if it's on rails. At £199 for a day doing this, I'm genuinely bewildered anyone still goes to work.

THE RACING CAR EXPERIENCE
No limit — because racing cars don't do small

Half-hour classroom. 3 laps in the Toyota. 3 laps in an Alpine to warm you up. Then 5 laps in a SINGLE-SEAT RACING CAR.

Yes. One high-speed passenger lap at the end to fully compress your reality.

PRACTICALITIES

Both groups arrive together at 8:00–8:30, grab a breakfast bap at the Thruxton café — food is not included in the price, so sort that out before you get in the car.

From there:

• Group A: Circuit morning session → Skid Pan afternoon
• Group B: Skid Pan morning → Circuit afternoon session

The Skid Pan runs 8:30–12:30 and 1:00–5:00pm. Morning circuit session kicks off at 9:10am. Afternoon group hits the circuit at 1:00pm.

And here's the bit I haven't mentioned yet: you get 2 hours on the skid pan in your own car. Yes, YOUR car. On a proper skid pan. If you want to thrash about in your own Porsche — or whatever magnificent thing lives in your garage — this is your chance. Loan cars are also available if you'd rather not risk the paintwork.

Full day, no waiting about, maximum seat time. And a bacon sarnie to start.

COST

£199 per person.

Classroom, instructor, 10 laps in your chosen car, 2 hours on the skid pan in your own car (loan cars available too), and one high-speed passenger lap that'll make your grandchildren jealous.

£199 covers everything except food. No hidden extras, no surprise charges, no small print. Just you, a track, and a very fast car.

Cars are limited and the places will go. To secure your seat, drop us a message — we'll take a name and a deposit. Don't wait.

Two weeks before the event, we'll sort out the finer details: which car you're in, which session you're doing, all of that. Please note — cars are limited per session, so we can't guarantee you'll get your first choice. But having driven them all ourselves, we can promise you this: they are all absolutely, genuinely, magnificent.
