A perfect Sunday morning drive in the Oxfordshire and Berkshire hills as we loosely followed the trail of the Thames. A perfect time of year, with verdant woods carpeted with Bluebells, and (mostly) empty roads. A spirited drive took us over the hills, along ridges and through the wooded vales before arriving at our lunch point, an R20 favorite; the Spring Inn at Sulhampstead, who by chance were also hosting the 997 Register later.
Highlights of the run included Ian as the R20 goose rustler; herding a large gaggle of geese who decided on a pitch invasion just as the R20 column arrived outside their farm gate to safer ground, Aston Hill just outside Stokenchurch and crossing the Thames at the historic Toll Bridge in Pangbourne for just 40p a car. Jon and Jane enjoyed the run so much they did it in reverse on their way home!
