For our April Club night, we were pleased to have Martin Rowley as our guest speaker at the Redborn Golf Club on the fascinating life of gentleman driver Sir Stirling Moss. He raced with most F1 teams; Mercedes-Benz, Maserati, Vanwall and in his later years for Rob Walker’s independent team driving Cooper and Lotus, having been selected twice to drive for Ferrari but never actually drove for them.
Chiltern Region convoy to the Flight Deck
Our April breakfast meet took place at the Flight Deck Café at Turweston Airfield, located near Silverstone circuit. The café offers a fantastic, elevated vantage point—great for watching the aviation activity.

They also have a varied, good-quality breakfast menu, and an impressive selection of cakes. Around 25 members joined us, with some heading straight to the café, while a group of seven cars met just outside Hemel Hempstead to travel in convoy for an enjoyable drive.
We’re planning a return visit in June or July, and the airfield operators have kindly offered to reserve dedicated parking so all our cars can be displayed together. Keep an eye on the R21 newsletters for further details.
