Welcome to R2's August run, with added Cars, Aircraft and Food!

This run will begin with an informal cars and coffee meeting from 9am, at R2 member Robbie's workshop in Gourdon Harbour. Robbie has an early aircooled 911 in there along with a few other four-wheeled toys, and will very kindly lay on coffee for R2 members.

It will be easy to find as it's right off the main road into the Harbour, look for the Porschephiles gathering outside.
There is limited parking outside the workshop but it is only a couple of hundered yards away from the main harbour, where there are various parking spots. Be prepared to park where you can and walk along.
At 10am, we will depart for our first stop, Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre. RAF Montrose was the first operational military air station in Britain, dating back to the first world war. There are many interesting exhibits of aircraft and aviation technology, from canvas-over-ash biplanes up to the present day. The museum has been building a faithful replica B.E.2a biplane, a copy of the first aircraft to land in france during the great war. There are also a number of sections looking at civilian life through the years too.

Entry for this section of the event is £6pp, or £5pp concession, payable on arrival.
After spending a few hours here, we will depart just after noon to head for our lunch stop.
Our lunch stop is booked from 1:30pm, at the Drovers Inn, near Kirriemuir. This charming gastropub has beatiful dining rooms and a quaint bar, with a brilliant menu.
Due to our numbers and another event on the day, we will be in their own Marquee on the lawns outside the Inn. There is no need to pre-book food, and the full menu will be available.

Due to the booking at the restuarant, this event is initially limited to 30 people.
After this, a wait list will be in operation. If there is excess demand we will attempt to expand our booking at the Drovers Inn.
