The Lancashire and Cumbria Region (R18) Managed by David & Judy Baker, covered a very
large geographical area. We regularly held two monthly meetings every month. One in Lancashire (Garstang Golf and Country Club on the 3rd Wednesday of the Month) and One in Cumbria (The Cumbria meeting moved venues to cover the large geographical area)
As both Lancashire and Cumbria groups have expanded their membership numbers in line with
the general increase in PCGB membership, it was felt that Cumbrian and South Scotland members would benefit from their own region administration. “Nothing new and probably how the ‘R18 Lancashire & Cumbria’ started when the ‘R5 Northwest’ became saturated with enthusiastic Members” some time ago.
In July 2018 a new region “R22 Cumbria and South West Scotland” was therefore established on a 6 months trial basis. Assuming the trial is successful, R18 will be renamed “R18 Lancashire”. Both areas will still work closely together, continuing the success of the many shared calendar of events of the past with lots of new ones too.
During the trial period, R18 monthly meetings continue as normal at Garstang Golf Club on the 3rd Wednesday. David and Judy continue their stewardship with Kevin Dodd taking over Mike Trotter’s ARO role. The R22 Cumbrian meeting point is now at a fixed venue and time - ‘The Stoneybeck Inn’ just off Junction 41 of the M6 on the 1st Tuesday. This R22 team is headed by Mike Trotter and Martin MacKay. This echo’s Regional Director Phil Graham's September Porsche Post Column.
At both meeting locations we regularly have speakers, quizzes, runs or other fun events. Partners are very welcome.
Lancashire and Cumbria organisers have an extensive calendar of events individually and jointly organised. These including Weekend Of The Year’s (WOTY)’s, attendance at various PCGB events, Classic Car Shows, Motor racing both regional and national, drives and lunches. We hold joint meetings with other motor clubs and often join our adjacent PCGB regions North West R5, North Wales R6 and North East R3 at their events. Participation in all region’s activities is invited and encouraged.

In line with the Club mission “To be the heart of Porsche ownership and enjoyment in the UK” R18 and R22’s Mission is therefore – “To be the heart of Porsche ownership and enjoyment in Lancashire and Cumbria” and that will be the same, even if expressed as two sentences in the future. Enjoy your club.
