Alpine Adventure

Our next road trip is our most ambitious yet and we’d love you to join us.

Map is for illustration purposes only and not exact driving routes

Approx. 1650 miles of amazing driving, across 7 countries experiencing some of the best driving roads in the world. Mountain passes including Susten, Grimsel, Furka, Stelvio, Umbrail, Grossglockner, and loads of smaller ones in between. If you Google ‘best driving roads in Europe’ the lists will vary from site to site, but overall, we are hitting over half of them on this trip! With stunning hotels at every location, beautiful European cities to explore in the evenings, and some of the best views in the world, you won’t want to miss this adventure.

We have had lots of interest in the trip prior to announcing so anticipate spaces going quickly. We can only take 15 cars on this adventure so be sure to book your place when tickets go on sale on the 1st October, so you don’t miss out!

In organising this event, we want to give our members flexibility. For this reason, the trip starts in Calais. This gives you the option of ferry or tunnel to suit your plans. The trip concludes in Brussels, Belgium, but just two and a half hours from Calais. This allows for people to extend their plans either side of the trip if they choose.

If you are staying in Ashford, Thursday 4th of September prior to departure, we recommend staying at
Ashford International Hotel (15% members discount PORSCHE15) or for a special treat, Eastwell Manor

We also want to give you the freedom to explore the destinations we will be visiting in the evenings.  Booking a group meal in the hotel each night will limit your time to do this. Therefore we have taken the approach that if we are staying somewhere remote, we will include the evening meal, if we are staying in a city or town, we will leave you to explore the local restaurants and many places to eat around you, to suit your plans. From this philosophy, the trip is broken downs as follows -

9 nights accommodation, bed and breakfast in 4 or 5 star hotels (Calais to Brussels)

3 Evening meals included, the first night (Metz, France) to welcome everyone, one in the middle (Bolzano, Italy), and the final night, to toast the end of our adventure together.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Calais to Metz, France
Friday 5th Sept 2025
Hôtel La Citadelle Metz

We depart Calais and make our way to Metz – an exquisite French city with plenty of restaurants and bars.  Tonight, we get to know each other at our organised dinner in our lovely hotel. A perfect start to our Alpine Adventure.

Metz is a city in France’s northeastern Grand East region, with gardens and leafy promenades along the Moselle and Seille rivers. In the old town, the Gothic Metz Cathedral is famed for its vast number of stained-glass windows, many by noted artists. Nearby, the Musée de la Cour d'Or displays artefacts from Roman to Renaissance times.

Day 2 – Metz, France to Zurich, Switzerland
Saturday 6th Sept 2025
Crowne Plaza Zurich

We continue the Alpine Adventure straight down to beautiful Switzerland with a little taster of a twisty route towards the end of the day, through the National Parks before arriving in Zurich.

The city of Zurich lies at the north end of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland and is stunning both day and night. The picturesque lanes of the central Altstadt (Old Town), on either side of the Limmat River, reflect its pre-medieval history. Waterfront promenades like the Limmatquai follow the river toward the 17th-century Rathaus (town hall).

Zurich is home to many world-class museums and art galleries, including the Kunsthaus Zurich and the Swiss National Museum.  Explore the cobblestone streets of Old Town (Alstadt), shop along Niederdorf and Bahnhofstrasse, and even take a dip in Lake Zurich! At night, choose from over 500 clubs and bars—from smart and sophisticated to waterside Badi-Bars (aka bathing pool bars).

Day 3 – Zurich, Switzerland to Davos, Switzerland
Sunday 7th Sept 2025
AlpenGold Hotel

Day 3 sees us driving the fantastic passes of the Susten Pass, the Grimsel Pass, and the Furka Pass.  The Furka Pass was famously used for a car chase in the classic Bond film Goldfinger. All providing a great introduction to the mountain hairpins and stunning views offering many photo points and a breathtaking stop for lunch.

We make our way to Davos, which is 5,120 ft above sea level. Gaining prominence in the 19th century as a mountain health resort, Davos also has one of Switzerland's largest ski resorts and hosts the international Spengler Cup ice hockey tournament each December. In 1903, Thomas Mann wrote The Magic Mountain about Davos.  A beautiful backdrop and a great finish for the end of Day 3, we will be staying at the stunning 5 star AlpenGold Hotel.

Day 4 – Davos, Switzerland
Monday 8th Sept 2025
AlpenGold Hotel

Today is yours – you can either remain in the glorious surroundings of the 5* Alpinegold Resort & Spa, making full use of the hotel shuttlebus and visit the Davos town centre, or if you’re still full of driving enthusiasm from yesterday, then you have the option to join our team for a drive out over some more of the breathtaking alpine passes on our doorstep.

Day 5- Davos, Switzerland to Bolzano, Italy
Tuesday 9th Sept 2025
Four Points by Sheraton Bolzano

Depending on what you did yesterday, today will be your second (or third!) day of real mountain driving with us experiencing the thrills of the Fluella Pass, the Treballe Pass, the South side of the Stelvio Pass and the Umbrail Pass, before arriving in Bolzano for a taste of Italy.

Bolzano is a city in the South Tyrol province of north Italy, set in a valley amid hilly vineyards. It’s a gateway to the Dolomites Mountain range in the Italian Alps. This evening, we will host everyone at the lovely Four Points Sheraton for our mid event dinner.

Day 6 – Bolzano, Italy to Salzburg, Austria
Wednesday 10th Sept 2025
Wyndham Grand Salzburg

Today is another day of mountain passes and sees us heading north through Italy, and into Austria for the legendary Grossglockener Pass – quite possibly the highlight of all the passes on this Alpine Adventure!

We arrive in Salzburg, on the border of Germany, with views of the Eastern Alps. Within the province, lies the fortress of Hohensalzburg, one of the largest medieval fortresses in Europe, dating back to the 11th century. Its historic centre (Altstadt), enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, is renowned for its Baroque architecture and is one of the best-preserved city centres north of the Alps.

Day 7 – Salzburg, Austria to Stuttgart, Germany
Thursday 11th Sept 2025
Emilu Hotel Stuttgart

On Day 7, we sadly leave the mountains behind us, as we head north. However, today we are more interested in a little German car manufacturer based in the city of Stuttgart!  Before that, you’ll have a chance to stretch your cars legs and legally have a go at driving at speeds on the Autobahn network that normally back in the UK are reserved for runways or private roads.

We make our way towards the awesome city of Stuttgart for an evening of Schnitzel and Wurst.  The city and metropolitan area are consistently ranked among the top 4 European metropolitan areas by GDP.  Home to famous automobile museums like Porsche and Mercedes-Benz, as well as numerous auto-enthusiast magazines, which contributes to Stuttgart's status as Germany's “Capital of Cars.”

Day 8– Stuttgart, Germany - Porsche Museum
Friday 12th Sept 2025
Emilu Hotel Stuttgart

Leave your driving shoes in the hotel, as we make our way to the Porsche Museum in the city.  Today, we get to learn a bit more about the history of the Porsche brand and view the stunning collection of over 700 cars. Tours of the factory itself have not yet been released for 2025, we will endeavour to add a factory tour to the trip subject to availability.

For those who want a break from things car-related, there is a free day to explore the city of Stuttgart and it’s many sights or just relax at the hotel.

Day 9 Stuttgart, Germany – Brussels, Belgium
Saturday 13th Sept 2025
Martin's Château du Lac

Departing Stuttgart after a day’s rest, we make our way North up to the final stay of this adventure on the outskirts of Brussels where we find ourselves at the magnificent 5 star Martin's Château du Lac for our final nights party.

Time to pull up a chair and regale everyone with stories of your legendary driving prowess from the trip.
