7 - 10 September 2020

WOTY

**EVENT CANCELLED**

In time honoured tradition this year's WOTY will be overseas. WOTY stands for Weekend of the Year, however this time it will run from Monday 7 September to Thursday 10 September. It gives the opportunity for participants to attend the Brands Hatch Festival of Porsche on Sunday 6 September.

Where are we staying?
Our destination is the Netherlands, close to Hook of Holland. We will be staying at the Fletcher Duinzicht Hotel, Oude Nieuwlandseweg 13, 3253 LL Ouddorp.

I have made a reservation of 20 double rooms with balcony. At the last Club night 14 of those were taken, so there only six remaining unless I can expand the booking.

What will we do?
Oudorp is situated on an island connected by dyke causeways. Part of the fun of this area will be touring round the quaint villages and over the causeways. Naturally as this is Holland you may wish to hire a bicycle during your stay. The hotel is situated very close to a beach, allowing for long strolls, and you might even fancy a dip in the sea.

When we are out touring we will typically do two optional things per day. The itinerary is not set yet but could include visits to the following:

We would also like to go to Zandvoort race track. However the circuit may not be available during the WOTY and this will be confirmed later.

I might add an option to extend your trip by one night near Arnhem in the east of the country - details also to be determined.

How will I get there?
You will be responsible for your own travel arrangements. You can travel by ferry from Harwich direct to Hook of Holland, Dover to Calais/Dunkirk, or Eurotunnel.

My own preference will be travel out on Eurotunnel directly from the Brands Hatch Festival of Porsche on Sunday 6 September, using a stopover hotel, returning via the Hook to Harwich at the end of my stay.

What are the costs?
The hotel stay for two people B&B in a double room with balcony is EUR504. (Single occupancy is only  EUR15 less but the hotel may be able to offer a cheaper, or more expensive room to requirement). Three-course dinner is offered at EUR36.50pp per night. A couple eating in the hotel every night would therefore have a total bill before extras of EUR723.

Crossing out via Eurotunnel one car two people approx. £86
Crossing back from Hook of Holland approx. £78

Visitor attractions (see above) cost between EUR10 and EUR16.50pp.

A probable £100 deposit will be required towards the end of January to cover the hotel booking and group entry to attractions.

How do I reserve a place?
You need to be quick. Please email me directly on r11gregt@gmail.com stating whether you would like a room for one or two persons - noting if you would like an upgraded or downsized room subject to availability. Please also include a mobile phone number so that I can contact you at short notice if required.

Best regards,

Greg
