Jersey International Motoring Festival

This year Porsche Club GB will be represented at the Jersey International Motoring Festival, which will run from Thursday, 1st to Sunday, 4th June. The Club will have a marquee stand at the Festival on Saturday, 3rd June and Sunday 4th June. We will have space to display 3 Porsche cars in front of the marquee. We encourage anyone going to the Festival to visit the marquee so that Fiona and I may introduce ourselves to you.

Cavalcade of Cars, Friday 2nd June.

The Festival organisers have asked that the Porsche Club be represented in the cavalcade of cars taking place on Friday, 2nd June. Specifically, they have requested the participation of 10-15 members' cars in the cavalcade to demonstrate the evolution of the Porsche from the early model 356 of the 1960's to the modern day models.

This is a great opportunity to showcase the Porsche brand. We are most grateful for the response and enthusiasm that we have received from our member and non-member Porsche enthusiasts. We are particularly grateful to those owners who have already volunteered their time and cars to participate in the parade. We are pleased to have the following cars and their owners signed up for the parade:

Year:     Model:                                    Driver:
1960     356A                                         Nick B.
1965     356C                                         David/Mary F.
1983     911 Carrera SC                         Matt M.
1984     911 Carrera 3.3 Turbo Cabr.    Tony F.
1985     Carrera 3.2                               David S.
1992     964 Carrera 4 Targa                 Frans V W-G.
1993     964 Carrera 4 Celebration        Goetz E.
1997     993 Twin Turbo Carrera 4         Ian M.
2000     996 Convertible                        Paul R.
2005     997 Carrera S                           Nick H.
2005     997 Carrera S                          James W.
2009     997 Targa 4S                            Richard W.
2014     918 or 911R (tbd)                     Martyn K.
2015     991 GT3RS                               Bruce R.

While we already have a stunning selection of cars, there is still room for a few additional models. A few more cars across the spectrum and especially the early model 911s from the '70's and '80's would be very nice additions. Might I persuade a few more owners to get their cars out of the garage and join the parade? Please contact me at: goetz.eggelhoefer@outlook.com if you would like to participate.  And, if there are Porsche Club members from other regions, such as Guernsey, visiting the island for the Festival they are also very welcome to participate in the parade and the dinner afterwards.

Forms for cavalcade participants:

Participants in the cavalcade are asked to complete a form which may be downloaded from the JIMF website here. Please complete the registration form as soon as possible.

You are also asked to provide a few brief notes about your car at the bottom of the form -- year, model, distinguishing features, annecdotes. These notes will be used to provide a public commentary about the cars on display during the parade.

Parade details:

We have been informed that the cavalcade will begin at 7.00pm at a 'holding field' at Bel Royal. The cavalcade will proceed down, up and down Victoria Avenue and the Esplanade and will end at the Radisson Hotel. We do not yet have a specific time allocation for the Porsches in the parade.

Post-Parade Dinner:

We have made a provisional dinner reservation for 8.30pm at the Radisson hotel.

The dinner will be free for the Porsche owners taking part in the parade. Other Club members and non-member Porsche enthusiasts are also very welcome to sign-up for the dinner at a cost of Stg.35 per person.

We have also made arrangements with the hotel for our cars to be parked/displayed in reserved parking bays in the semi-circle at the front of the hotel during dinner.
