Le Mans Trackday

We are currently in discussions with Jersey’s Delta Racing to participate in their track day event to Le Mans. There is not enough time to organize a bespoke track day event for the Porsche Club at Le Mans for this year. However, if there is sufficient demand in this event, we may arrange something specifically for our members in the future.

Speaking with several Club members about this event, it is clear that many have already signed up for this event with Delta Racing directly. However, it is equally clear that there are some Club members who may be interested in participating as part of a group and, equally, some members who may be interested in participating in the track day in a more limited way.

With this in mind, Delta Racing are offering Porsche owners three options to participate in the trackday:
Option 1 - Full participation:
Aug. 3rd 2017: Leave Jersey for St. Malo via Condor Ferries.
Aug. 4th 2017: Track day on the Le Man, Maison Blanche circuit.
Aug. 5th 2017: Track day on the Le Mans, Bugatti circuit.
Aug. 6th 2017: Return to Jersey via Condor Ferries at St.Malo.
Indicative price: Approx. £1000.00 based on 2 travelling and sharing a double/twin room for 3 nights b&b basis.

Option 2 – Partial participation:
Aug. 4th 2017: Leave Jersey for St. Malo via Condor Ferries.
Aug. 5th 2017: Track day on the Le Mans, Bugatti circuit.
Aug. 6th 2017: Return to Jersey via Condor Ferries at St.Malo.
Indicative price: Approx. £665.00 based on 2 travelling and sharing a double/twin room for 2 nights b&b basis.

Option 3 – No track day participation:
Aug. 4th 2017: Leave Jersey for St. Malo via Condor Ferries.
Aug. 5th 2017: Free day and/or spectator at the track.
Aug. 6th 2017: Return to Jersey via Condor Ferries at St.Malo.
Indicative price: Approx. £400.00 based on 2 travelling and sharing a double/twin room for 2 nights b&b basis.

What is a trackday?
It is important to recognise that a track day IS NOT a race day. There is a world of difference between a supervised track day and a race in which cars are driven competitively. Track days offer owners the opportunity to test their own limits and occasionally the limits of the car in a controlled environment without the distraction of cars coming in the opposite direction! Drivers are often classified as novice, Intermediate or expert. There will be a good number of each classification at a track day. There may be periods during the day designated specifically for drivers of a particular experience level and/or for cars of a particular performance. Passing on the circuit is usually controlled and supervised by circuit stewards. For novices there may also be an opportunity to go around the circuit with instructors.

In short, a track day is an opportunity for drivers to drive their cars at speed but in a safe and controlled environment that ensures that everyone has a great day out and goes home happy and in one piece!
