It is with great sadness that we pass on the news of the death of long-term Porsche Club Motorsport competitor Angus Archer on Wednesday, 5 March. Always competitive in his blue and white Boxster S Angus was a fixture in the paddock and always willing to chat and pass on advice to fellow competitors.
He was not only a frequent class winner in races but also someone who prepared cars and engines for many of the field and was also one of the first to offer help if another competitor, or even rival, was up against it returning a car to race condition. A classic Angus moment occurred at Croft in North Yorkshire last season when he went all the way back to his workshop in Bedfordshire to get what was needed to help another driver go racing.
Angus came from a racing family, with his father Jeff competing in the Club’s Speed series and uncle Stephen racing his Porsche with us. He was a presence that enhanced any paddock, and we are sure that you join all of us at Porsche Club Motorsport in letting his partner Carly and all the Archer family know that our thoughts are with them at this sad time.
