We sadly learned of the passing of former Club official Tony Shannon aged 86 on 26 May at Dorothy House Hospice in Wiltshire following a long illness. Tony and his wife Harriet were ROs for Region 16 from 2002 until 2011. They were the Club’s principal ‘Sunday Opening’ volunteers at Cornbury House during the late 2000s.
Tony and Harriet were also involved in Concours judging and, in particular, in organising and judging at the Club's 50th anniversary Concours at the Royal Agricultural College at Cirencester in 2011. Tony was also Harriet’s greatest supporter when she was co-opted onto Porsche Club Board in 2011/2012.
As well as supporting Club activities in his Region Tony was often seen at Castle Combe Circuit Action Days in his spotless 944 Cabriolet – the car he won the National Concours at PCGB’s festival at Highclere Castle. Tony is survived by Harriet with whom he shared Joint Honorary Membership.
