Porsche remains bestseller with Collecting Cars

The UK continues to be the biggest market for Collecting Cars, with more than £106 million in sales via the platform in 2024. This included more than 2,000 cars, over 450 number plates, and just shy of 100 motorbikes.
 
From more than 700 Porsche car sales globally in 2024, over 400 were sold in the UK, accounting for more than £26 million in value for vehicles from the Stuttgart marque. During the year, Collecting Cars also reached the milestone of more than 2,000 Porsche 911s sold, encompassing every generation from the 1960s through to the latest 992 models.
 
During the year, the Collecting Cars team in the UK sold more than 40 cars at or over the £250,000 mark, including a 1996 993 Carrera RS. This one owner car with just 10,734 miles on the odometer sold for £456,000 in February.
 
Another Porsche to join the “£250,000+ club” was the superb 1957 Porsche 356 A T1 Speedster, which benefited from a previous extensive restoration. Finished in a stylish black-over-red colour scheme, it also came with excellent documentation of the refurbishment, and included numerous underbody photos showcasing the quality of the work. It attracted more than 7,000 views and went on to sell for £272,000.
 
Another Porsche from a more recent decade was the 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Club Sport sold in June for £250,000, making it the third most expensive example ever sold. The reason for the particularly strong result was the remarkable odometer reading of just 2,559 miles from new.
